CURRENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We have an open invitation to those with special talents who would like to volunteer with us! Currently we are seeking several people to help throughout the week. This list only scratches the surface of our volunteer needs. If you see something that piques your interest, please call the museum at (330) 659-0336.
WRITERS:We are looking for individuals who love to write. Our current project is our next comprehensive local history book--Richfield 1969–2011 (working title). Myrtle Haslem spent many years documenting Richfield news and events– and now this information is ready to be compiled. If you have a knack for writing and love local history, this job is for you!
MUSEUM DOCENTS: Do you like to talk with people while having Richfield’s history at your fingertips? Come and spend time at the museum during our regular hours and assist our staff with history requests or visit with our guests. The museum is open Tuesday and Saturday mornings as well as Thursday evenings. We would love to have you here!
INDEXERS:We need volunteers who enjoy working on the computer. Currently we are indexing our artifacts and archives. The museum software is simple to learn and you get to see first-hand what acquisitions we have! The Society is also currently a member of the FamilySearch Organization and is helping to index the 1940 census which was just released. You can do this program from home and still be part of our volunteer team! Again – this program is simple to learn. You must have access to the internet and you will receive training from our staff. Look for information further in this newsletter!
